Friends go home :(

Monday we mostly took it easy - David hasn't been sleeping very well at night, so we were all a bit tired, but after a nap and getting the crock pot started for dinner, we headed down to Allen to meet up with Dan for lunch.  Then we got back in time to get the kids from school and get home.  We had fun in the evening, and took Kay and Reggie to go see some of the houses in the neighborhood in hopes of getting them to move here - it would be so AWESOME to have them living right near us!!!  

Tuesday was more fun and good times, Kay was determined to pack our fridge full of good food before she left, so she made more yummy food with lots of left overs and it's been so yummy!!!  We made up a birthday cake for Kay - we got the cake made up on Monday night, then we frosted it up Tuesday to eat and celebrate with her on Tuesday evening.  I told her she could pick any cake she could find a recipe for - she picked Banana cake with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting.  I was quite proud of how it came out and it tasted pretty good too!  

Wednesday morning, the kids got off to school and not long after, Kay and Reggie headed for the airport and David and I were left alone for the morning.  We mostly rested and got David a much needed nap. In the evening was young women's and cub scouts and activity day girls.   

Thursday, after school, Anna asked me to go outside with her and practice her volleyball, so we had a great afternoon of playing outside in the front yard and enjoying the weather.  Aaron's friend came over to play too.  

On Friday, the younger kids had their color run at school.  They had a blast and came home looking kinda green and zombie-like, so I told them to make zombie faces and I snapped a picture, then we listened to "Zombie" by the Cranberries on the way home from school.  Those kids crack me up! 

On Saturday, both Eileen and Anna had their solo instrument competitions - they both got 1's (highest score possible) and did a great job!!!!  In the afternoon, Evie planned a mom and dad and Evie outing to go get ice cream, so we walked down to the ice cream place and got some yummy ice cream and then walked back - Evie mostly just loved having mom and dad almost entirely to her self (David came too, but he just hung out in his stroller happily) but we all had a nice time together! 

Church was great - the talks were wonderful and lessons were wonderful.  We talked to one of Eileen's young women's leaders who was concerned about Eileen, so Dan and I spent the evening with Eileen trying to figure out what was wrong - Dan took her on a bike ride, then she and I made cookies.  We think she's having a hard time finding friends and feeling like she fits in.  I wish I had a magic mommy wand that I could wave and make it all better.... 

Friends come visit!!!!

It was a crazy busy week.  The Pack meeting was on Tuesday, which meant that most of Monday and Tuesday morning were spent getting things ready for the pack meeting, running errands and such.  But over all the meeting went well - the boys were superheros and made capes and ran obstacle courses.  

Wednesday I went down to get my hair cut with mom and after we stopped at In N Out burger for lunch.  David liked it. :)  Eileen had young women's in the evening, but no cub scouts because of the pack meeting.  

Thursday was normal. In the evening, I let Anna come play volley ball since the kids had Friday off, and I invited Grandpa to come too.  We had a good time playing together - though it had been a while since my dad played - he's still better than me at my best.  We had a fun time, though he took a bit of a fall at the beginning while chasing a ball and I think he went home a bit tired and sore.  I'm glad he came though - it was fun playing with him again. 

Friday, we met up with Grandpa at the Dallas Zoo.  The kids all had a great time and didn't want to leave - thankfully we can come back lots of times this summer. The day was perfect for being at the zoo and the kids all had a great time. 

Late Friday night/Early Saturday, Kay and Reggie arrived!!!!!  We got them settled in and then all passed out - exhausted!  Saturday morning, Eileen, Kay and I went to the Relief Society activity.  We didn't stay too long, we wanted to be home and playing and enjoying time together, but we helped out some on the service project and had a good time.  The boys and younger girls went to go fly a kite and had a great time.  It's so great to have them visiting!!!! 

Church was wonderful and the whole sabbath was great!  We finished the day with Dominion and chatting (and staying up a bit too late)

Stake Conference and Tae Kwon Do

It was a busy week as usual.  Anna has been keeping busy with volleyball and school activities.  Eileen had her performance.  The choir sang in the production of the Lion King.  She did a great job!  Anna and I had a great time watching it!  Dan was sweet and stayed with the younger kids so I could go.  

On Saturday, we all went to Taz's birthday party.  He had his party at a Tae Kwon Do place and the kids all had a great time!  The adults all had a great time watching them - it was rather funny :)  

In the evening, we had Stake Conference.  Eileen babysat, but we brought David with us.  It was wonderful!  After Dan and I grabbed a quick dinner before heading home.

Sunday was more Stake Confrence - it was wonderful getting to hear from stake leaders and a general authority.  After, we went over to the Hendrickson's house for lunch and games and had a fun time.  They were having pancakes for lunch, so we had breakfast for all 3 meals of the day :)

David loves to bang on everything - so when he found Aaron's drum and drum sticks - he was in seventh heaven.

I Love to See the Temple

This week started out normal enough.   School, grocery shopping, laundry, and such.  David is so much happier when I can keep him on a nice regular schedule - so when I can, we mostly stay at home and keep to a nice regular nap and eating schedule.  Then he is a smiley baby instead of a cranky one!  

Wednesday was cub scouts and young women's, so a busy evening.  Aaron had his well child check up (finally) so we got home a bit later than usual and he and I didn't get dinner before we had to head to the church.  Thankfully they saved us some and we ate when we got back. 

Thursday, James had his check up after school - he was so excited, after seeing Aaron get a bouncy ball, he was so excited to get one too.  Volleyball was cancelled, they couldn't get enough people.  :( 

On Saturday, we had a bit of a busy day.  Eileen and I went to get her some new yarn with her money.  Then I took Evie, Aaron and James to get new shoes since their tennis shoes were all falling apart, Dan and Anna went to go help a new family move into the ward, Then in the evening, we all got dressed up and headed down to the temple for a ward family temple trip.  It was wonderful - especially wonderful to be in the temple after a rather busy and stressful day.  Unfortunately, James wasn't feeling too good, so he mostly stayed in the car with Dan while I went in with the other kids.  Then after, we took some pictures, but it was chilly and most of the kids forgot sweaters...

Fast and Testimony meeting today was wonderful!  We've been making an effort to teach the kids the importance of fasting and it's been amazing to watch the older kids all try and do their best to fast and to do it with a purpose!  Church was wonderful - our Relief Society council was wonderful and made me truly appreciate what a great ward we are in!  After church and dinner and such, I sat down with Eileen to look at her personal progress and had her pick one out that we could work on together.  We called Grandma Jones and talked with her about it and it was wonderful! 

Happy Easter!

We've kept busy this week.  Dan had a couple really long days at work.  The company was doing a big push to get something out to clients and Dan wanted to make sure that his part was done so that he wouldn't have to be working over General Conference/Easter weekend.  Monday was the usual - laundry, grocery shopping, school stuff, etc.  Anna is playing volleyball after school.  She's really enjoying it!  

Tuesday, we had the Louvren's over to play Settlers of Catan and had a fun time eating ice cream and playing together!  

Wednesday morning, David had his 9 month check up - he weighed in at just over 20 lbs - he is growing so fast.  The doctor said the rash that has showed up recently is excema and a couple other little rash things all at once, so he gave us some ointment to help with them and his skin is looking SO much better now!!!  

Here's a cute picture of David helping me do a little grocery shopping.  We needed a couple things - when Dan was going to be home really late one night, I decided to put off the more complicated meal that we had planned and went to grab the stuff for Chipped Beef instead.  David loved driving the cart!  

This is David's new favorite game - the kids think it's great too.  The stand him up and let go of him to see how long he can stand, then catch him when he starts to fall.  He thinks it's awesome - he loves the part where they catch him - so much so that after awhile, he will intentionally start to fall just so he can get caught, and then he giggles like crazy!  

The kids had no school on Friday, so I took Anna with me to Volleyball again on Friday - she had a great time.  I'm also having a great time watching her get better.  She is better every time I play with her!  She's starting to try over hand serves!  

Friday was a fun and busy day.  We met up with Sandi and Taz and Kai at a park to play and chat and have fun.  The kids had a great time with their cousins.  Then we headed home to decorate Easter eggs.  The kids had a lot of fun decorating the eggs.  I enjoyed watching them and looking forward to making them into deviled eggs!  

Saturday morning, a family in the ward was having a breakfast potluck/Easter egg hunt, so we headed over with some coffee cake and Easter eggs.  I let the kids open their baskets first so they had something to keep the eggs in, then we headed over.  

The kids had a good time, though I think Eileen was a bit disappointed when she didn't get many eggs - but overall they had a good time, then we headed home for General Conference.  

General Conference was WONDERFUL!  It's so nice to have a prophet who is healthy enough to address us at conference - his words were so inspired and so wonderful.  It was a wonderful way to spend Easter weekend.  So much to learn and some exciting changes.  It's so neat to see the way that the Lord encourages growth in the church and in individuals through the programs of the church!

On the Move

David gets more mobile each day - he's figured out how to walk around with his toy from Grandma and Grandpa and he moves all over the house with it.  He still get stuck at walls and such, but it won't be long before he gets to turning it on his own.  He's a smart boy and figures things out way too quickly.  We close the dog kennel to keep him away from the dog food sometimes - but after watching us close it, he worked on figuring out how to open it back up - so now it's not even safe when it's locked up.  

He also loves to walk around the house with the help of his sisters and brothers.  He cruises around the edges of furniture and if they are close enough, he will move between pieces of furniture.  

Tuesday this week was the pack meeting.  So I spent Monday and Tuesday getting things ready.  I had to head down to pick up awards and such, so I met up with Dan for lunch and then went to get the awards.  It's always nice to get a little extra time with him!  The pack meeting went mostly well - I need to do a better job at making sure everyone knows when they are so we get a better turnout.  :)  But the kids seemed to like the games and we had a fun time. 

Wednesday was just Eileen's mutual activity, since there was no cub scouts.  Thursday, we didn't have enough people for volleyball, so it was cancelled.   :( 

Friday night, Dan and I went down for Ward temple night.  We got there early so I could get a new dress at the distribution center.  We had such a great turn out that we ended up divided into two sessions!  My mom came up to help out with David, but she headed home once he was down for the night. 

Saturday morning, Dan and Anna were doing the Melissa 5K.  They did a great job and we got to see lots of other people from the ward there running also!  Anna got 2nd in her age group and Dan got 3rd!  Evie spontaneously joined in the fun run and did a great job with Anna going with her.  She was so excited about her little ribbon.  Unfortunately, I wasn't there to see her awesome job since I had gone home with a tantrum throwing James and a hungry David after the 5K. 

In the evening, we had the Tiltons over for dinner and games.  It was so fun to get to hang out with them again!  It's also amazing how Eileen and Sonora just picked up their friendship right where it left off!  We had a yummy dinner of ribs and brussel sprouts and potato salad and a yummy and fun dessert! 

Church today was wonderful - the talks today were great - some wonderful stories that illustrated the beauty of the gospel were shared.  I can't believe next week is General Conference!  I'm so excited!  After church, I went to a "8 is Great" thing they were doing for all the kids turning 8 this year.  I gave a little blurb about Cub scouts - but best of all, I got to meet the mom of a couple of my scouts who I hadn't had the chance to meet yet since she had recently had a baby, so I am really glad that I went! 

Spring Break!

The kids were on Spring Break this week, but we mostly took it pretty easy - we started off Monday with going to the McKinney Library in between loads of laundry.  It was great - but we accidentally returned a school book and missed a book that we should have returned there.  Thankfully, they caught it and let us know, and thankfully they don't have late fees.  

We met up with Sandi and Taz and Kai at the park and had a fun time.  The kids ran around and played and Sandi and I just walked circles with David in the stroller.  Good times were had by all - along with plans hatched for a slumber party later that week.  

David is getting into everything.  He climbs up everything, puts everything into his mouth and plays with anything he can find - even dog food...  

Wednesday was the usual den meetings and young womens activities and activity day girls, so a usual busy night at the church. 

Thursday was a Relief Society activity - it was lots of fun and lots of good times getting to know people better.  After, I took Anna to volleyball at the church.  It kept her out late, but she had a good time and got in some good practice. 

Friday morning, I took James and Evie to the Melissa library for story time with David.  They had a good time and James and Evie were really helpful with David.  Then in the evening, We swapped Kai for James and Aaron and had a girls sleep over at our house and a boys sleep over at Jon and Sandi's.  They all had a great time, but James left his blanket at home, so I had to drop it off, he can't sleep with out it. 

Saturday, Dan and I got a babysitter for the younger kids and took Eileen to see Black Panther.  We all loved it!  Eileen now says it's her favorite movie.  :) 

Church was great and we had a nice morning together.  It was a wonderful way to prepare for the coming week!

Fun and Games!

It's been a fun week here!  Monday was the usual school day for the kids and laundry day for me. 

Tuesday was a normal school day again - Lori was going to come over, but she had forgotten a scheduling conflict so I just had to wait until Friday....  In the evening, we had the sister missionaries over for dinner.  One of the sisters grew up in San Jose too and even graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School like I did.  She had been in Alum Rock ward for awhile and knew people that I grew up with.  It was kinda crazy! 

Wednesday I met up with the sister over cub scouts in the stake and she helped me to figure out what I need to be doing and starting to get stuff figured out for cub scouts.  In the evening, Aaron had cub scouts, but Eileen didn't have YW since they had cancelled for spring break. 

Thursday was the kids last full day of school before spring break - they were excited!  In the evening, I let Anna come with me to the weekly volleyball at the church - even though it was late - because she had just a half day the next day.  She did such a good job and we both had a great time! 

Friday, the kids were done with school after lunch, so after school, we headed home to get things ready for dinner - I hit the grocery store with Anna and Evie and David, then we got the chicken salad ready and the house cleaned up!  The Tolberts came with Jaqui Robinson - the kids had a blast playing together and the Adults had a great time playing Ticked to Ride.  It is so fun having them close again!!! 

Saturday was busy.  Dan and Anna have both been spending a lot of time running together - they go on a run together most days.  Dan spent a lot of time cleaning out the garage and getting it ready for the van!  The sister missionaries came over to help us build book shelves - they were awesome - but were a bit overwhelmed, having never done anything like that before!  The weather was beautiful and the kids all wanted to go jump on the trampoline in the sprinklers and had a great time.  Anna wasn't there - she went with Dan to get some good running shoes. 

Sunday was wonderful - the Daylight Savings time change threw David for a bit of a loop as far as sleeping - but otherwise he did a good job.  Church was great and the lessons were wonderful!  We had been going to the Hendrickson's for dinner - but they came down with a stomach bug and had to cancel. :(  We still had a yummy dinner and a nice chat with Grandma and Grandpa Jones.  Then Eileen and Anna and Aaron and Dan played Killer Bunnies.  Now for a week of Spring Break!  

San Diego and Texas

This week was a bit busy - Dan left really early Monday morning to go to San Diego with Sandi and Jon for a conference.  We kept their dog Griz here with us while they were away.  Other than that Monday was the usual school and laundry and such.  David slept really well, but since I was folding laundry and helping a sick Evie, I didn't get to enjoy much of it. 

Wednesday was a normal-ish day, until I tried a shortcut to getting to the middle school and got stuck in the mud....  Thankfully a kind person stopped to help - but I felt like a total idiot...  Thankfully the girls had cell phones and so I was able to communicate with them to let them know why I wasn't there to pick them up when they got out.  And to add injury to insult - I was stuck in mud right next to a fire ant nest and ended up with ant stings all over me....   After, we headed to the ward February Feast for pizza and celebration.  The kids mostly had a fun time and we got to enjoy getting to know people in the ward a bit better. 

Dan was supposed to get in Wednesday evening, but weather delays forced their plane down to Austin, so they didn't get in until 3 AM - so between lack of sleep and our both having a bit of a cold, we were a bit tired the next day. 

Friday, I met Dan for lunch, and we had a nice time together, but on the way home I realized I'd forgotten a meeting with a gal from church about cub scouts...  But I remembered to pick up the pinewood derby cars!  :)  In the evening, we got together with a couple from our ward for dinner and dessert and games after.  It was a really fun evening! 

Saturday, Dan and Anna went early to run a 5K together down in Allen.  They had a great time together.  She got 9th in her age group and Dan got 12th. 

After, David was supposed to be napping, but wouldn't sleep so Dan tried taking him for a walk - He and Evie and James went on a walk and had a fun time together.  Weather was perfect for being outside! 

Sunday was wonderful!  In the morning, Anna was reading scriptures to David.  The kids decided to fast for Grandma Penny.  It was really sweet and they did a great job fasting!  Aaron and Anna even fasted for both meals!  Church was wonderful and we had a nice evening together.  

Happy Together!

We've been busy this week

Monday the kids were off school - we had a fun day hanging out together at home.  I had an insane day trying to get everything ready for the blue and gold. 

Tuesday was the big night.  The blue and gold.  I think everything went pretty well since it was my first attempt at being a cubmaster.  But everyone seemed to have fun and we had a great turn out even though it was pouring rain down the whole night!  Things seemed to work out well and everyone seemed to have a good time. 

Wednesday, Eileen had her young women's night and had a good time, but otherwise, Wednesday was normal. 

Thursday, I went visiting teaching.  I got to visit both sisters.  It was fun getting to know them both a bit better.  Missy couldn't go last minute, so I went anyway and had a nice time! 

Friday was our Ward Temple Night - we went and did a session - Eileen watched the kids and my mom came up to help out with David for a bit.  After, we went for ice cream with some of the others from the ward - it was so nice!  Eileen did a great job! 

Saturday was a normal busy day full of cleaning and playing.  Dan did his home teaching in the evening and we all had a good time together! 

Sunday before church - we finally got to start with ward choir!  I'm so happy - I've missed singing!  In the evening, Sandi came up - Jon had gone down to San Diego early, so Sandi came up and stayed the night here so she could get a ride early with Dan down to the airport and to leave Griz here with us. 

Fun and Flour

This has been a mostly easy going week.  Monday was the usual - laundry and grocery shopping and school work and such.  We are trying to get David on a sleep schedule, but it's been hard going.  He doesn't ever want to go to sleep....  I finally gave up nursing - I'm now pumping bottles for him.  He was hurting me too much and he wouldn't sit still to eat and I was afraid my milk supply would dry up if he kept it up.  It turned out to be a good thing since his first tooth popped through this week!  Thursday he finally got it and his second one isn't going to be far behind. 

Valentine's Day was Wednesday.  We had a fun heart shaped biscuit breakfast in the morning before school and the kids got some cute little chocolate filled hearts.  In the evening was the usual Wednesday night stuff.  Anna and Evie had activity days and Aaron had cub scouts - I subbed in his cub scout den and had fun with the boys.  Eileen had a mutual activity that included dancing and loud music and Eileen absolutely hated it.... 

Evelyn had a big school project this week about the planet Saturn and she had her presentation this week and got 100%!!  She did an awesome job and she was so cute practicing for it!  She did a great job!

Friday the kids had no school, so we had some fun riding bikes and taking walks and jumping on the trampoline and playing games. 

Eileen said she would watch David and the other kids so that Dan and I could go on a date for Valentine's Day, so on Saturday, Dan and I left the kids and went out to dinner.  Eileen did a great job - but David got really fussy at the end of the night and was screaming inconsolably and Eileen couldn't handle it.  She doesn't like loud noises....  We were on our way home by then anyway - but it was a good test to see how well it would work - so it looks like we still need a David baby sitter for temple trips and longer dates. 

Church today was great!!  I subbed in James' primary class today which was lots of fun - I had David with me and the girls in the class all just adored him!  I was supposed to speak in Sacrament meeting, but they had a high council speaker come, so I got moved to next week.  But all the talks were wonderful! 

The older kids got some time up since there is no school tomorrow, so we played Carcassonne and Dan won, but it was a pretty close game all around.  Then Anna and Aaron went to bed and Eileen stayed up and helped me make some cookies for the blue and gold this week - we all ended up with flour all over us (it started with the usual amounts that you get from using lots of flour, but ended with Eileen putting a big hand print on Dan's shoulder and a big flour-y group hug and Dan making sure our black shirts were really covered.) 

Movin' On Up

We had a fun week here.  James was sick for the first couple days of the week and was home from school Monday - Wednesday.  By Thursday he was ready to go back to school - mostly because I'm a mean mommy and I won't just let him play video games and watch movies all day just because he's sick.  He did spend a good chunk of the day on Tuesday taking a nap, but otherwise - he wasn't really acting sick, just coughing and running a fever.  Thankfully he is feeling much better now, though he still coughs once in a while.  David on the other hand, now has the cold.  Mostly just a bit of congestion and coughing - he had a fever, but it's mostly gone now - the problem is that when he doesn't feel well, he doesn't sleep well, which means mommy doesn't sleep well either.  Thankfully Daddy is sweet and awesome and helps out to let mommy get some extra sleep to make up for it.  

David found the stairs this week - and began trying to climb them - so we got gates set up to keep him from climbing and falling.  And don't worry - I was keeping a close eye on him - he didn't actually get up on the stair - he just got the one leg and couldn't get any further before going back down, but it was enough to give us warning to get gates up!

Monday was laundry day.  James went out for Ice cream with Grandpa in the afternoon.  He had a blast and came home with some fun birthday presents - that he hasn't wanted to let go of since he got them.  

On Wednesday, in the evening, I went to the church with Aaron for cub scouts, and then after, I stayed with Eileen for Young Women's to teach the beehives how to crochet.  They are cute girls and we had a fun time, and they did a great job!  After, I met with the former pack master to learn a bit more about cub scouts and scout book.  I still feel a bit like I don't know what I'm doing, but I feel like I know where to start. 

Friday, I went down to meet my mom and sister for brunch - or as I like to call it breakfast.  :P  It was a fun outing!  After school, Eileen and I ran the library books back - yey for on time returns!  :)  Then in the evening, the older kids had fun playing games for their hour up. 

Saturday started with me sleeping in while Dan took David so I could recover from a long night.  We had a fun time playing board games and going for a walk together.  In the evening, Dan took me out for some Ice Cream before we headed to bed.  It was nice to get out for a bit together. 

Today was wonderful.  Once again David had kept me up most of the night, so in the morning, Dan took over so I could sleep.  Dan and Eileen had talks to give in Sacrament meeting today - they both did a great job!  I'm sure the rest of the lessons were wonderful, but I spent most of them either nursing David or walking the halls with him, so I didn't get to hear them much, but I did just happen to be out in the hall way in time to talk to the primary president so I could ask her a couple questions that I had!  Tonight, we had some fun doing Sudoku puzzles together, then Eileen played Settlers of Catan with us before bed.  I'm ready for bed now, but David is not.... 

February Feasting!

Monday morning, Dan took the van to get it fixed up to pass inspections so that we could get it registered in Texas.  It ended up taking him all day to get it done, so I had to get the kids to and from school with just the mini.  Dropping them off wasn't a problem, since Eileen and Anna start later and I can leave them at home with David while I drop off the younger ones and then take the girls with David after.  Picking up was harder - I ended up calling my mom to see if she could come and watch the younger ones while I went to pick up the older ones from school.  Monday was also laundry day and grocery shopping.  David came with me and hung out making cute faces at everyone in the store.  He was so cute just chilling in the cart - but it made me a bit nervous...  

Tuesday morning after getting the kids to school, I went visiting teaching.  It was fun getting to know my companion and the sweet sister I get to visit teach!  Now I just gotta get the other sister to answer my calls.  :)  In the evening, we got the kids to bed, then I headed down with a bunch of others from the ward to help clean the temple.  It was such a neat experience - we worked from 10 to about 11:30 then headed home - tired but happy.  It was so neat to be able to serve that way and we carpooled, so I got to know some people in the ward a bit better too! 

The next morning, I was exhausted!  Dan was sweet and got the kids all to school so I could sleep in some.  In the evening, Aaron had cub scouts.  I went with him - I'm trying to get a better understanding of how cub scouts works since I'm now a pack master!  After, Dan and the kids met us at the church for New Beginnings.  I can't believe Anna will be joining Young Women's this year.  I can't believe how fast they are growing up. 

Thursday was the first day of February - I'm not sure where January went...  most of the day was pretty normal, school and such.  Our ward is doing what they call February Feast month - they are challenging us to read the scriptures every day this month.  We are challenging the kids to do personal scripture reading every day instead of just counting our family reading for the challenge.  I made a family chart for us (mostly so that we would have one pinned to the fridge that wouldn't get lost) It's been so awesome to watch the kids read and put star stickers on the chart and watch the charts fill up!  Even James has been getting in on it - I sit down with him and we alternate verses - his reading is improving so much!  This picture was so cute of Evie and James reading together! 

Thursday evening, I went and played volleyball again - it's been fun to play and get a bit of exercise and have fun, and get to know some more people in the area! 

Friday, the Relief Society presidency came to visit in the morning to get to know a new sister a bit more.  We got on the topic of family history and pulled out our apps to find if we were related - and sure enough - I was related to both of them distantly!  It was fun!  :)  After, I fed David, then headed down to Allen.  I dropped off Anna's glasses to get fixed, then met up with Dan for lunch.  We had some yummy Japanese food, then hit Costco for some more chicken and diapers.  Then I ran by Walmart for a couple things and got home in time to feed David and put everything away before I got the kids from school.  In the evening, we just had fun together! 

Saturday, we had some friends coming over in the evening for dinner and games, so we spent the morning doing a bit of clean up - getting the front couple rooms straightened up and the boxes all cleared out of the main rooms.  Dan took the kids for a walk and they had a fun time.  In the evening, we had Chicken Tiki Masala for dinner, then played Puerto Rico.  Dan and I got smashed - we need to play more and work on our strategies for next time....  The kids all seemed to have a great time playing together too. 

This morning, we took it easy and had a nice morning, We are trying to get the kids doing Faith in God and Personal Progress stuff in the mornings.  Dan and Eileen and I all got called to speak.  Dan and Eileen next week and me the week after.  I got together with some of the other pack leaders to plan the Blue and Gold for this month.  I'm now starting to feel a bit more like I know what's going on - though I still need to figure out Scoutbook....  Then church in the afternoon.  It was a wonderful day - the testimonies were beautiful and the lessons were wonderful.   After church, we had coffee cake and scrambled eggs for dinner before reading scriptures and putting the kids to bed. 

Birthday Boy!

Monday was just our usual run of the mill day - laundry, grocery shopping and school.  David is so helpful!

Tuesday was James' birthday - he was so excited about it and reminded us all day that it was his birthday.  He wanted a Hulk cake and a Captain America cake, so Anna and I worked hard to make him Hulk cupcakes and Captain America cupcakes - he loved them - though Anna's Captain America shield came out much better than my Hulk....  He was so excited about his presents and had a great time opening them and playing with them.  The hard part was getting him to go to bed....  

David figured out how to clap this week and he spent that entire next day clapping for everything - he was so excited by his new skill - it was so cute.  Evie and James really love to help take care of David - and while sometimes, it's a bit scary - it's also really cute.  David also finally started crawling this week - Thursday he finally started moving forward and by Friday, he was starting to be able to chase down what he wanted - though slowly.  He's still moving slowly thank goodness- and it's really cute. 

Wednesday was the usual school day for the kids - Aaron had an early cub scouts activity so they could do some hiking around the local park - then Dan picked him up from that and I took Anna and Evie to the church for Activity Days - while there, I talked to the primary presidency member over Cub Scouts and some of the Den leaders.  I'm still trying to wrap my head around this calling!! 

Thursday was a normal school day for the kids and David and I.  In the evening, I headed to the church to play volleyball with a bunch of people from the ward and the area.  It was a lot of fun - I'm out of shape and not very good, but it was still a lot of fun! 

Friday the kids were out of school for Teacher Inservice.  Grandma came over with Wicket to help out and hang out with the kids.  Then in the afternoon, I took the kids to the nearest library to get a library card.  The library is small, but the people are nice and they all managed to find something to read.  Even me.  :)  After, we had a quick leftover dinner with Daddy, then Dan and I headed down to the temple for Stake Temple night - we dropped David off with Sandi and Jon on the way, then went to do a session.  It was wonderful!!  It was strange being in the Dallas temple again instead of Denver, but it was so nice to be in the temple!

Saturday we kept good and busy, we got some cleaning up done around the house, we got some more unpacking done, we went to the park and then in the evening, we headed down to Sandi and Jon's for dinner and a movie.  We all had yummy pizzas, then the kids went up to watch a movie and the grown ups (and Eileen and sometimes Anna) played games down stairs.  It was a fun night. 

Evie was so sweet - she made cute papers for each family member with their name on it and a bunch of kind things about them - it was so cute and so thoughtful of her!!  I have the greatest kids! 

Sunday was nice!  We had a mostly relaxing morning - Dan made biscuits for us for a yummy breakfast, and we played games and I tried to lean a bit more about scouting....  David has been having a blast sticking his tongue out - it's the cutest thing and he does it all the time - I managed to get this adorable picture of him - now that he's crawling - he is also getting stuck places - so I snapped a picture, then got him out :)  Church was wonderful - David snuggled up to me and fell asleep during Sacrament meeting and was good but wiggly the rest of the time.  We had a great ward conference this week. 

New Callings!

On Monday, the kids had no school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  They had a fun day off and we did some organizing and cleaning up.  Sandi came over for a bit with Taz and Kai and they all had a blast running amok :)  

Tuesday it was back to school and normal days.  David had gotten rather clingy and wants to be able to be climbing on me and holding on to me at all times, but doesn't really want to hold still....  it's sweet, but exhausting.  When Dan got home, he took David with him out to run an errand and ran me a hot bath!  It was fun getting to just relax for a bit and it was fun having a bath again.  

Wednesday was a usual school day - the kids mostly seem to be liking school - and in the evening was cub scouts for Aaron and young women's for Eileen.  I got asked by her adviser to help Eileen teach crochet for a young women's activity.  I think it's going to be fun!  

Thursday evening was a Relief Society activity, we were painting a picture together - this was how mine came out - I'm kinda excited about it - though I was not terribly happy with the cheap brushes - I think I would have liked how it came out better if I had used some better brushes.  It was lots of fun though, and I got to know some more people in the ward!  

Friday after getting the kids off for school and getting a little nap in with David, I headed down to Plano to meet my mom and Sister for lunch. We ate at La Madeline and had a great time together!

Saturday morning, we got up early to head to the church to help clean.  Then after, we headed out for donuts along with some others from the ward.  In the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa came to take Aaron out for a birthday ice cream and had fun together.  Aaron came home with a fancy remote controlled car.

Sunday was fun - it's been kinda nice relaxing in the mornings.  We listen to conference talks, and maybe do some indexing and have fun together.  Church was wonderful - Dan and I got new callings - he is teaching the 12 year old Sunday School class and I am the cub scout pack master.  It's going to be an adventure for me - I have no experience with cub scouts - but I think it will be lots of fun!  Eileen also got a new calling - she is the new second councilor in her beehive class presidency.
